Krister Lowe, M.A., Ph.D.
Krister Lowe is an Organizational Psychologist and a Senior Partner at Ideas for Action LLC whose passion is facilitating collaboration, creativity and change in organizations. Through a range of interventions such as leadership and team coaching, training, group facilitation, consulting, and mediation, Dr. Lowe helps individuals, leaders, teams and whole systems enhance effectiveness. Since 1999 he has provided learning and development solutions for more than 20,000 people in over 20 countries around the world. Some of his recent clients have included the United Nations, Deloitte, JP Morgan, Bank of America, the Rockefeller Foundation, NPD, Columbia University, the International Rescue Committee, the World Trade Organization, the New York City Department of Education, Seton Hall University and the Berkeley Carroll School.
Dr. Lowe has specialized expertise in the areas of team coaching, leadership coaching, conflict resolution and performance management. He teaches a course on group facilitation skills to master’s degree students at New York University in the School of Continuing & Professional Studies. He also facilitates a webinar-based blended learning certification program in the suite of NBI™ Thinking Preferences Assessments in partnership with Columbia University’s Coaching Certification Program.
Most recently Krister has been contributing to the development of the team coaching field. As Host of the weekly Team Coaching Zone Podcast (available on iTunes) he explores the art and science of team coaching with leading organizational coaches Krister also currently provides team coaching services to a number of clients and has introduced team coaching programs to organizations.
Dr. Lowe holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in social-organizational psychology from Columbia University as well as a B.A. in English language and literature from Old Dominion University. The focus of his doctoral dissertation research was on the influence of conflict climates on decision-making in organizations. He is a certified mediator in New York State, holds a certificate in conflict resolution from the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution from Columbia University, and is certified in the LeaderNation™ 360 feedback instrument and the NBI™ Thinking Preferences Assessments.
