Rebecca M. Dueben is a Senior Partner at Ideas for Action LLC, and is a professor at Washington State University in the Center of Transformational Learning and Leadership within the Department of Human Development in the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences. In this assignment she teaches leadership effective leadership and life skills to undergraduates, and in her faculty development role, creates innovative workshops for faculty and staff in areas such as mindfulness. A current program she is engaged in, VAuLTS, focuses on values-based academic leadership training for women in STEM.
Additionally, Becky is a faculty fellow and strategic planning facilitator with the Office of Strategy, Planning, and Analysis at Washington State University. She is also a business and leadership consultant to local businesses in her community.
Throughout her career, Becky has specialized in creating faculty development experiences, assessment, leadership, and transformational student engagement. Becky has worked in higher education for the past 25 years as a faculty member, administrator, and staff member gaining a first-hand knowledge of the experiences of many stakeholders throughout the university system.
Becky has served on committees and boards within the university including the President’s Commission on Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation. She has served as a mentor for both students and faculty, winning the Crimson Spirit Award in 2020 for her exceptional service that reflects dedication to the university’s values and mission.
Becky holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Washington State University and is a graduate of Elevate, a professional facilitation program.
Outside of academia, Becky pursues leadership by serving her community, currently as a city council member for the City of Pullman. She is a mom to two young women and has celebrated 26 years of marriage to her husband. During her down time, Becky writes short fiction for a variety of publications.
