Dr. Christopher J. Michos Dr. Christopher J. Michos is an emergency medicine physician, healthcare strategist, and physician executive with more than 30 years of experience leading clinical, operational, and transformational initiatives across complex healthcare environments. Known for combining clinical credibility with strategic insight, Dr. Michos brings a distinctive ability to navigate complex healthcare systems, build alignment across stakeholders, and lead organizations through periods of change and transformation.

In addition to his operational and clinical leadership work, Dr. Michos serves as a strategic consultant and executive coach to healthcare, clinical, and academic leaders, advising on organizational strategy, leadership effectiveness, physician engagement, change management, and complex systems navigation.

Board-certified in Emergency Medicine, he is recognized for integrating frontline clinical expertise with healthcare innovation, organizational leadership, and enterprise transformation.

Dr. Michos currently serves as an attending physician at Norwalk Hospital and advises healthcare organizations on operational performance, care delivery optimization, physician engagement, and systems transformation. His work spans emergency medicine operations, telemedicine, healthcare technology, quality improvement, and executive advisory services.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Michos has led major institutional improvements in patient flow, emergency department operations, stroke care, EMS integration, and clinical modernization. As Chair of Emergency Medicine at Waterbury Hospital, he drove significant reductions in wait times, strengthened interdisciplinary coordination, and helped the organization earn the American Stroke Association’s Gold Award for excellence in stroke care.

In parallel with his clinical leadership, Dr. Michos has developed deep expertise in healthcare information technology and physician workflow transformation. As a Consulting Physician Executive with Cerner Corporation, he advised health systems nationwide on electronic health record implementation, operational redesign, and physician adoption strategies, earning recognition for his ability to align clinical practice with enterprise-level transformation goals.

A respected educator, mentor, and public advocate, Dr. Michos has trained physicians, physician assistants, nurses, paramedics, and medical students throughout his career, including service on the faculty of Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. He remains actively engaged in advancing conversations around healthcare delivery, physician leadership, and the future of emergency medicine.

Dr. Michos earned his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident.
