
Dr. Christopher J. Michos is a distinguished Emergency Department physician and healthcare leader with over three decades of clinical, administrative, and consulting experience. Board-certified in Emergency Medicine, his career is marked by innovation, operational excellence, and a steadfast commitment to patient-centered care.
Since 2014, he has served as an attending physician at Norwalk Hospital, where he advanced non-opioid pain management, introduced modern sedation protocols, and improved triage systems to enhance patient outcomes. He is also a Medical Legal Expert with Med Experts, LLC, a Telemedicine Physician and Quality Leader with MedCall, and owner of Medical Advisory Services, LLC.
Previously, Dr. Michos chaired the Emergency Department at Waterbury Hospital, achieving major operational gains, reducing wait times, and earning the American Stroke Association’s Gold Award for excellence in stroke care. He also strengthened EMS integration and expanded advanced technologies such as ultrasound-guided procedures.
Beyond clinical leadership, he has deep expertise in health information technology. As a Consulting Physician Executive with Cerner Corporation, he guided nationwide EHR implementations, earning recognition for workflow optimization and physician engagement.
An educator and mentor, and as a prior member of the faculty at Quinnipiac University’s medical school, he continues to train physicians, physician assistants, medical students, nurses, and paramedics in the ED. He has contributed to national discourse on emergency medicine through media appearances and community health advocacy.
Dr. Michos earned his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. With active licenses in multiple states, he remains board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
