Elizabeth M. Lucas, CAE, MBA
Elizabeth Lucas is a Senior Consultant of Ideas for Action, LLC and Principal of Alta Vista Group. She is a results-driven, strategist who inspires a vision and turns it into reality. A change-agent, successfully leading organizations to a new tomorrow, by building consensus, adding value, and inspiring others to move forward with strategic priorities.
Liz helps organizations evolve through an understanding of the landscape they operate in, direction–setting, innovation, governance, and change and performance management processes.
Liz has 30+ years of experience in nonprofit leadership, product and market development, brand building, engagement, fundraising and measuring success. She has successfully developed an innovative culture for two organizations – building their research, program development, marketing and communication functions to support it. Her brand building, engagement and fundraising work has not only significantly contributed to revenue streams, her work has garnered nationwide exposure for professions through an array of integrated media channels.
Over the course of her career, Liz has developed a global network of nonprofit leaders, political activists, academics, and foundation officers. She has broad industry experience having worked for companies in consumer package goods, retail, financial, heavy equipment, foodservice, health and beauty aids, healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical equipment. Her experience with scientific research, public health and safety has led to her work in social issues, specifically gender equality and its contributions to society, cultures and the global marketplace.
As a strategic consultant, she takes the high view that strategy must come first to ensure success. Liz’s volunteer experiences as a board member and advisor for education and community-based organizations drive her commitment to help her clients find the best strategic approach in their mission-driven work.
Liz is also Executive Director & CEO of Soroptimist International of the Americas where she leads the effort to engage volunteers to socially and economically empower women and girls across 20 countries and territories. Her prior executive experience with professional and trade organizations include leadership roles with American Massage Therapy Association and the National Safety Council.
Liz holds an MBA in organizational behavior and global business from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a BS in business from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
